HOW IT WEATHERS:

Charred wood doesn’t “fail” like painted timber. It slowly evolves, how this happens depends on your maintenance philosophy.

First 6–12 months

• Loose carbon particles may shed slightly (especially where there's deep char).

• Color shifts from jet black to a softer charcoal.

• UV light starts breaking down any oil finish.

1–3 years
